The Cognos Analyst will use their strong Cognos skills to assist the BI team in providing high quality reports, alerts and business critical information in a useful format. The data is available from an IBM data warehouse solution with a Cognos front end so a good knowledge of the full Cognos suite is preferable. The data is utilised by the BI team as well as other departments such as customer services, marketing and financial to assist them when making important business decisions.

Responsibilities

Understanding the business, with particular attention to Marketing, Games and Gaming      Finance procedures, to ensure analytical needs and reporting requirements of the business are met.

Meeting the requirements of the BIS roadmap in a timely and efficient manner

Responsible for the administration of the Cognos folder structure.

Developing complex reports in Cognos report studio.

Recognising trends of key performance indicators using Cognos report studio and analysis studio to inform insight and marketing departments

Implementing and maintaining security policy within Cognos admi

To keep open and continue communications with your manager and your team with regard to workload and projects.

To work on any other reasonable task   requested by your senior manager.

Assist the business users with any issues encountered while using Cognos Connection and Query Studio

Key Skills: Essential

Very good computer skills including an advanced knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.

Good level of SQL including joins and nested queries.

Very numerate & analytical with a good attention to detail

Ability to analyse and resolve problems with good diagnostic skills.

Self starter with strong communication skills.

Adaptable and flexible with an ability to multi task.

Ability to manage own workload and meet demanding deadlines.

Key Skills: Desirable

Proficient in the Cognos Business Intelligence, specifically Report Studio

A knowledge of an ETL and data warehousing tool, preferably IBM.
